Head of Accounting
Help shape the future of finance.
West Vision is a fast-growing hospitality and lifestyle group in Phuket which operates multiple Thai entities such as Yona Beach Club, Hype Boat Club and Boa Night Club. We serve thousands of guests per month through online bookings, agents and walk-ins.
As our portfolio grows, we’re looking to hire a permanent, hands-on leader who takes full ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, makes the books provable against the bank, and builds a disciplined, well trained team. This is an operational leadership position for someone who thrives on getting the details right, building reliable processes, and running a tight accounting function. You will work collaboratively with the CFO who is redesigning processes, and your job is to own them, run them and make them stick.
This role is open to Thai Nationals only.
What you'll do
Accounting operations
• Own the accuracy and timeliness of the group’s books. Every number correct, every close on
time, every reconciliation current.
• Full ownership of the general ledger, chart of accounts and all accounting entries across the
group’s Thai entities.
• Accurate, complete and timely monthly close (target: within 5 working days of month-end), with
review and approval of all journal entries, reconciliations and adjustments.
• Own Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions
and the fixed asset register.
• Own revenue recognition and the daily revenue reconciliation across the booking platform,
venue systems, POS and payment providers (card acquirers, QR, payment gateways), including
prepaid vouchers and advance bookings.
• Daily cash controls for on-site operations: independent counts, discrepancy follow-up and
escalation.
• Ensure all accounting complies with Thai Financial Reporting Standards (TFRS).
Receivables and collection
• Own the AR ledger and produce a reliable monthly aging with due dates and buckets.
• Monitor overdue accounts and liaising with clients to ensure timely payment
Tax and statutory compliance
• Own all Thai tax filings: VAT (PP30), withholding tax (PND 3/53), corporate income tax; sign the
company accounts as the licensed accountant of record.
• Primary contact for the Revenue Department, Department of Business Development filings and
external auditors; lead the annual statutory audit to a clean opinion.
• Support BOI/EEC compliance and documentation in coordination with external advisors.
Payroll and HR-related finance
• Oversee payroll processing, statutory deductions (social security, Personal Income Tax), servicecharge distribution and payroll-related liabilities, in coordination with HR.
Team leadership
• Directly manage and develop the accounting team: clear task ownership, daily review, training,
maker-checker discipline and a culture of accuracy and accountability.
Systems and process improvement
• Hands-on administration of Odoo (our ERP) for accounting: imports, bank feeds, reconciliation
models, aging reports and closing workflows.
• Implement and enforce the SOPs and internal controls being rolled out with the group’s advisory
team; improve automation to reduce manual work.
Reporting
• Produce monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) per entity for the CFO, with
supporting schedules and variance explanations.
• Daily reconciliation status reporting: bank per books vs bank statements per account, with
unmatched items explained and actioned.
• Prepare and distribute monthly operational and budget performance reports to each Head of
Department, including Budget vs Actual analysis, detailed explanations of significant variances,
and the department’s key financial and operational performance indicators (KPIs). Ensure that
each department receives clear visibility on its spending, budget utilization, performance trends,
and areas requiring corrective action, with significant deviations escalated to the CFO.
What success looks like (first 12 months)
• Monthly close on time every month, no restatements; all reconciliations current and
documented.
• Books proven against the bank: daily bank and payment-provider reconciliation running in Odoo,
not in Excel.
• A functioning AR and collection routine.
• Clean statutory audit opinion and no tax filing incidents.
• A trained, accountable team where every task has an owner and a back-up; the CFO can trust the
numbers without re-checking.
What you'll bring
• You’ll be a Thai National who has strong English speaking and writing skills.
• CPD licence essential and CPA a strong plus.
• Demonstrable full-cycle accounting experience and as well as experience managing a team.
• Hands-on experience of Thai monthly close, VAT/WHT/CIT filings and statutory audit preparation.
• Hands-on mindset: you do the work with the team and lead by example, not just delegate.
• Experience with ERP systems- we use Odoo.
• Detail-oriented, systematic and reliable: you catch errors before they become problems and build
processes so they do not recur.
• Previous experience in a reputable national or international accounting firm is strongly preferred.
• Startup or SME experience strongly preferred: comfort with ambiguity and building processes
from scratch.
What you'll get
• A full-time, permanent position based in Phuket, Thailand.
• Attractive compensation package.
• The opportunity to help shape the finance function of a fast-growing international business and make a lasting impact.
